The song is presented as soliloquy that describes a person from whom the flood has robbed all in its wake. The lyric has delicately captured the sense of despair, loss and anger of a flood victim in a simple, emotive and minimalistic way. The Koshi floods are a perennial catastrophe in South Eastern Nepal and claims a large number of lives and property each year. The song also hints a satire in the line "Barud kini lyam na hajur" as a last desperate resort to opening the floodgates to the Indian barrages and providing a safe spillway for the Koshi floodwaters. The synopsis is made by Sameer Singh (environmentalist, musician).
